Explanation




kemuri 煙 (けむり) smoke
yukemrui 湯煙 steam

In Japanese haiku, smoke can be from a fire, often from burning the fallen leaves in autumn and winter.
It can also be from tobacco or pipe smoking.


The word may also indicate a kind of mist in the air, keburi けぶり, see the following kigo.
